Common Questions

How do I book a charter? +

Booking a charter with Exotic Island Travels is simple! You can either fill out our online booking form on the "Book Now" page, contact us via email at tracy@exoticislandcharters.com, or reach out via WhatsApp at +1 (340) 203-5906. Our team will work with you to customize your perfect Caribbean experience and confirm all the details.

What's included in a charter? +

Our charter packages are fully customizable, but typically include the yacht or boat rental, captain and crew services, fuel, insurance, and access to our curated selection of activities and destinations. Depending on your package, meals, beverages, water sports equipment, and guide services may also be included. Contact us to discuss what's included in your specific charter.

How many guests can each boat hold? +

Guest capacity varies by vessel and charter company. For example, through our partner Trident Charters, the Valkyrie (37' Midnight Express, from $550) and Off Da Rock (32' Contender, from $750) are perfect for small groups, while the Stardust (50' Luxury Yacht, from $1,400) accommodates larger parties. As we add more partner companies, you'll have even more options. Contact us with your group size and we'll match you with the perfect vessel.

What's the cancellation policy? +

We understand that plans can change. Our flexible cancellation policy allows cancellations up to 60 days before your charter date for a full refund. Cancellations within 60 days may be subject to fees depending on timing. For cancellations within 30 days, a 50% fee applies, and cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable. We recommend travel insurance to protect your investment. Contact us for specific details regarding your booking.

Do I need a passport for BVI trips? +

Yes, a valid passport is required for travel to the British Virgin Islands (BVI). U.S. citizens can enter with a passport book or passport card. Most other nationalities will also need a valid passport for entry. We recommend checking with the BVI immigration website and your local embassy for the most current entry requirements before your trip. Our team can provide recommendations on documentation needed for your specific nationality.

What should I bring? +

We recommend bringing: sunscreen with high SPF (reef-safe), a hat or visor, sunglasses, light layers for sun protection, swimsuit and cover-up, reef shoes, toiletries, any personal medications, and a light jacket for air-conditioned spaces. The Caribbean sun is intense, so sun protection is essential! Leave valuables at home or secure them on the boat. We'll provide a detailed packing list when you book, tailored to your specific charter type and activities.

How far in advance should I book? +

We recommend booking your charter at least 60-90 days in advance to ensure your preferred dates and vessel availability, especially during peak season (December through March). However, we can often accommodate last-minute bookings depending on availability. For the best selection of yachts and optimal pricing, earlier bookings are always preferred. Contact us to check availability for your desired dates!

What payment methods do you accept? +

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), bank transfers, and electronic payment methods. A deposit is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance due at least 30 days before your charter date. For specific payment arrangements or invoicing, please contact us directly. We're happy to work with you to find a payment solution that fits your needs.
